Handle the following
  • Receiving requirements from the line managers to charter a vessel with all the relevant data
  • Approaching the market through brokers and/or agents or directly to the vessel owners and transferring the detailed data in order to determine optimal vessel.
  • Receiving offers from owners/brokers, processing & forwarding them to the line managers or operation managers for approval
  • After the line manager’s approval, managing negotiations (with the vessel owners/brokers) on the main terms of the agreement- for the vessel’s delivery, the chartering period, price, etc.
  • Negotiating and fixing vessels charters according to line’ requirements aiming to achieve optimal and best commercial, technical and operations terms
 
Post-fixture activities
  • Consultation & coordination with various functions for terms of the delivery of the vessel, testing’s, fuel, etc.
  • Negotiate the charter contract, checking existing contracts, preparing new contracts, passing them for signatures.
 
Chartering operations activities
  • After the signing of the contract, updating all the relevant functions in the company (CEO, treasury, Line managers, agents, etc.)
  • Preparing & distributing reports on the closing new contracts, extension of existing contracts and options
  • Daily operations – settling accounts, damages & insurance
  • After receiving the vessel, updating accounting on the amount and due date of the payment.
  • Monitoring the redeliver dates of the chartered vessels to their owners, providing redeliver notices and handling issues related to end of term of the lease.
  • Monitoring and assisting the Chartered Vessels Accounts Department on solving payment problems, closing files of redelivered vessels and opening files for received vessels.
  • Examining, negotiating and confirming insurance premiums for vessels in war zones, PIRATEs, etc. escorting insurance department in the negotiations with the vessel owners
  • preparation & distribution of reports on the market and chartering transactions
  • Monitoring vessel damage claims, fuel, etc.
  • Monitoring the schedule of declaration of options
                                                                                                                                                                                             :Academic education- preferably from the field of law/economics/engineering
  • Ability to analyze & predict market trends according to economic reports
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of the shipping industry- a great advantage
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Excellent English level (including speaking, reading, writing)
  • Other languages- an advantage
  • Good control of office tools
  • Willingness to work overtime
